Saint-Macaire

It was about 6:30 in the evening...and we were all tired and hungry. The only thing that was happening in this village on the edge of the Bordeaux region was church...not a single restaurant seemed to be open...even though they said that they were. It is so typical of these villages and something that you forget being from the land of 24-7 convenience. That evening after waiting and waiting for something to open we found a McDonalds open in Langdon (a bigger town close by). The girls got a chance to race up and down the sidewalks in this picturesque medieval village that is lined with 15th and 16th century houses.
