11.27.2020 Nutcracker Short & Suite Preview

Village Dance Studio put on a beautiful short rendition of the Nutcracker and Allie was once again able to participate and dance with her group.  They all did a wonderful job at the preview at the Artsgarden.  For them to even be able to perform in some capacity during this pandemic year, is really impressive.  They all dance for many hours with a mask!  Unfortunately she will miss the performance as we had scheduled plans but loved being able to dance today!

I love watching them all grow in their skills every year!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have many things to be thankful for...our health...togetherness...family both near and far.  We will choose to look for the goodness and love in this world. We have been blessed beyond measure in this life.

The girls have certainly been helping me in the kitchen during our big holiday meals and I LOVE the help!  From preparing the turkey, doing the pies, making Grandma Trafton's famous dressing to setting the table...it is joint effort!

Connecting with family!

A post meal walk on the trail.

11.13.2020

We waffled back and forth between in person and now are back to hybrid learning!  Isabelle and Juliette have spent time all virtual due to contact tracing at school.  They have really adapted very well and can navigate their classes with ease.  I marvel at the girls effort in learning, writing and participating in class and also the school and the teachers doing a fantastic job trying to connect and teach in this new environment.  I really am amazed and feel fortunate.  Zoom has proven to be an invaluable tool in this pandemic and being able to be in "class" in this capacity is truly a gift.

A walk up the watchtower

a pretty hike around Ogle Lake

Ogle Hollow Nature preserve

Eve was a super happy girl getting to go walk her humans at Brown County State Park today.  I swear she was a sled dog in a prior life because she certainly likes to pull!  We packed a picnic and then set off on a 1 1/2 hour drive south to Nashville, IN and enjoyed a very warm (75 degree) and sunny day!

I would like to blame my tennis elbow issues, or maybe the sun was in my eyes....but I am pretty sure she beat me fair and square in a singles match for the first time today!  I think she looks rather proud of herself too.
