304.365 Happy Halloween

I picked them up from school a bit early and we took off for Iowa in hopes that we could trick or treat with the cousins.  We got there just in time to race to the few lit houses in the dark.  The girls got plenty of candy from the few streets they went to.  They had a blast doing this with family.  Aunt Tiffany, Braedy, Grandma Koss were there to join Uncle Matt and Aunt Jamie at their house.

299.365

The day we came back from our family picture session and frozen yogurt for a treat.  The day we basked in the warm fall golden honey sun and played.  Soon this ground will be covered in brown, dead grass and will be hidden by snow.  Enjoy these days in our deep sea of fallen, crunchy leaves.

298.365 New Hampshire, Chocorua Lake, home

Today we are leaving and this is the view from our hotel window...a cotton candy sunrise...

that turned into bright blue gorgeous skies.  Here we are at a scenic overlook at Chocorua Lake on our drive back from Boston.

297.365 New Hampshire, Diana's Bath, Conway Scenic Railroad

oh, this rain!!!  It is really making it difficult to enjoy our hikes in the White Mountains.  It was also blowing off all the beautiful fall foliage that we had missed seeing by a few weeks!  We had a brief break with some light rain and took a short hike to see Diana's bath...a waterfall not far from North Conway.

A super creative gigantic scarecrow with hay bales and pumpkins for eyes and ears of corn for teeth.
We took the Gertrude Emma (first class) on the Conway Scenic Railroad.  The girls had so much fun on this historic train from the late 1800s.

There was a stop at the cider mill and they could pick out a pumpkin too.

After the train ride we took the car to see the "man on the mountain on the western part of the White Mountains in Franconian Notch State Park.  The weather worsened and the mountains disappeared.
As we were coming back the clouds parted for this scenic view.
