With their cousins, Konner and Katelyn

High 5 Katelyn!

What is Konner laughing about?

Lots of helpers on hand to open those presents!

Juliette likes to "talk" on the phone. Always so cute the first time they do that!

Of course the curly ribbon was her favorite gift....what else?

Juliette is ONE!!!!

Icing is the best part...

Don't you people know it is over an hour past my bedtime?

But, since you are serving cake, I will wait.

We took a quick trip to Moravia, Iowa to celebrate Juliette's first birthday with her Grandpa Miller, Great Grandma, uncles, aunt and cousins and also some friends too. It was a long drive (7 plus hours) and then we celebrated late afternoon with a pizza party and birthday cake. Juliette was in a daze and so didn't "smash" into her cake and was mildly interested in nibbling on it.

Juliette turned 1 on Saturday, June 25th. It is seriously hard to believe that this year has gone by so quickly...I am resentful that time continues to click on faster and faster every month. I am not ready for her to grow up!

Miss Juju is now on the move...and is into everything! Babies that take a little longer in this department in my experience have already calculated their line of attack and know which corners are most dangerous, which cupboards have the most bang for the buck, and which outlets have no covers. She pulls herself up to her knees and of course loves to on our sharp treacherous fireplace. She likes to babble and hold on to a few letters like AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH loudly for seconds at a time. She loves to be outside, animals, books, fruit (her fav is watermelon), her mama, solid naps, swinging and grabbing meanly at her sister's faces and attempting to scratch their eyes out. She went to the doc today and has dropped to 25th% in weight, 19 lbs 13 oz and is 75th% in height, 29 3/4 in.

June 25th...on our way to Iowa.

Izzy loves to hold Lizzy like a baby.

Gotta get the camera out...

when I see a sleeping child! I love it!

Bird/butterfly garden

After

Before...we tried to have weed guard put down in anticipation that we would do it ourselves...but the weeds took over...again!

We had a mess about everywhere when it came to landscaping when we bought our house 2 years ago, and we are slowly trying to improve some of the existing flower beds. Since I couldn't come up with 50,000 for an inground pool and landscaping, we decided to put in a bird and butterfly garden...well....not us...but some local landscapers. The plants will eventually get fuller and the girls love the stone path.

PBS at the park

DUCK

The Kratt brothers

What if Chris

and Martin

The girls love love love The Wild Kratts on PBS. It is about 2 brothers who are animal adventurers who morph into a cartoon. It is actually a great show. The Kratt brothers head-lined this years "PBS at the park" downtown where they had a large amount of vendors, meet and greet various characters on PBS shows and bounce houses.

Zoobiliation

Jamie and I attended the 25th Zoobilation on Friday night. The zoo has this annual fundraiser where excellent restaurants around the area have small portions of food, appetizers, desserts to eat in individual tents and an endless supply of drinks. It is quite amusing to see tuxes and evening gowns walking around the zoo. Allie couldn't get over the fact that she wasn't invited.
