200.366 {2016} Aloha beautiful Kauai, Kapaa sunrise, Wailua falls, Lydgate beach, Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour, Kalapaki Shave Ice

This sunrise was magical and as cheesy as this sounds truly brought tears to my eyes.  God has made an unbelievably magical and gorgeous world for us to enjoy.

 Sand crabs

These koi hang out in the lily pond near the pool area.
Quick rains intermittently fell throughout the week.
 Wailua falls

 Lydgate beach

The helicopter tour of Kauai was first on my list of possible excursions when I started researching this trip months ago.  It was spectacular in every way.  I was a bit anxious about the flight but our pilot was amazing and the ride was smooth and almost felt like a simulation ride at Disney.  It was almost too beautiful to be real!

Lining up and ready to be seated.  The seating was computer generated and I have to say I lucked out with one of the best seats (front row to the right).

The fog and mist gave it an ethereal feel...just amazing!!!!  There were a few hurricanes a few hundred miles off of shore that were bringing rain to the area.  The flight before ours and after ours was cancelled due to the weather.  We felt so lucky to be able to go!

 Waimea canyon!

We got to see rainbows so I can deal with a little of the misty clouds!

Rain and visibility would come and go...but here we are close to the rainiest spot on earth!

Our pilot said that if you line up the all of the islands and atolls of the Hawaiian Archipelago it would stretch 1600 miles in length, the distance from Texas to Alaska.

A few iPhone shots before our flight began...

Safe and sound back on the ground...what an amazing and memorable flight!  Thanks, Brody!
Of course all that excitement calls for some shave ice!
Isabelle said her concoction tasted like chlorine.

Always best to stick with the recommendations...this is a Hawaiian sunrise...or sunset...
