193.366 {2016} HAWAII!!!! Aloha from the Big Island

Ok, Hawaii...we understand now.  All the gushing love, goose-bump inducing, excited and amazing reviews of you were all true.  We had high hopes and expectations of this beautiful state and they were all completely surpassed!  We had an unbelievably great time exploring just a small bit of a few of your islands and we will be back...sooner then later.

We left Indianapolis at 7:00 am and had a short lay-over in Los Angeles (very short due to delays) and rushed to catch our flight to Kona.  It was a 5 hour 45 minute flight and we arrived around 1:30 pm Hawaiian time.  We were all so thrilled to finally make it!

The state of Hawaii consists of 8 main islands including, Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe and the Big Island of Hawaii (also known as Hawaii).  We will visit 3 this trip!

The girls were so excited to get a lei greeting when we walked into the airport.  Such happy faces!  We got our luggage and our rental SUV and drove to our beautiful condo overlooking the ocean in Kauila-Kona.
This view!!!!  You can see the condo pool in the far left hand corner.

A special greeting out on the lava rocks!
It was called the Banyan Tree Condos and was well equipped with everything we could possibly need for the stay.  It was so pretty!

Our favorite place to congregate was on the lanai looking out to the ocean.  In the mornings we would have our Kona coffee and feel the warm trade-winds and hear the rush of the ocean.  In the evenings we would have drinks and watch the sunset.  It was amazing.  We slept with all the windows open and the waves crashing would lull us to sleep.  The girls did say that the roosters gave them an early wake up call.

We went to the grocery store after landing and decided to make dinner here tonight.  The girls got into their swim suits and took a quick swim.  We were all exhausted but excited for our Hawaiian adventures to begin!
