PROST! Having a good time with our landlord, Rosi on Christmas Eve.

A railroad tragedy.

One shot or two?

The Schnapps Eisenbahn is up and running. The Klepsers had a rail-way set up in their flat. You had to watch where you were stepping, but it was alot of fun!

We were graciously invited to our landlord's Christmas Eve celebration. We met around 3:30 for drinks and then went to a children's church service. After, we gathered around to sing Christmas carols...we sang along in English and the children opened gifts. They have an adorable grand-daughter, Lilli. We then enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Rosi and Lilli's other grandmother. For our first course we had a field green salad with vinagrette dressing, ham, and mushrooms...second course was a maultaschen soup...third course was fried maultaschen with onions and two kinds of potato salad (pictured is the salad made with cucumbers)...and for dessert we had a mixed fruit salad with ice cream. SOOOO delicious! Maultaschen is a Swabian specialty...it is kind of like a ravoli...outside is the pasta dough and it is filled with minced meat, spinach or vegetables, and spices. They have pre-packaged Maultaschen that you can buy in the store, but we are told the "good" Swabian wives make it from scratch.
