10.15.2018 Fort Sumter, Charleston

Fort Sumter.

Prior to our visit, I booked the ferry through the NPS website to visit.  They are strict on scheduled times and departures and we happened to be the first tour of the day.  They left out of Liberty Square.

We were able to see the raising of the flag and hear a talk given by a NPS ranger about Fort Sumter and the significance.

The girls getting to meet and know, "Rocky".  We took a carriage ride through the streets of Charleston which was a fun way to travel like they did back in the olden times.  We didn't get a choice of where the tour would lead us...it is all done by a lottery system.  We had a funny guide and a relaxing way to learn and see a bit of the city.  Here are a few photos on the tour...

City Market

The City Market was fun to shop and browse in.  It had many stalls including this one that sold straw baskets and other items.

Walking around town and down Rainbow Row.
