7.4.2023 Delphi and last evening in Athens

This trip went so fast and we try to see as much as possible when we travel.  We certainly feel like more the better, but it is tiring when there is such a big world to see. We maximized this area of Greece with another day trip to Delphi.  This was on a bigger bus and had a tour guide.

Arachova is a town on the southern slope of Mount Parnassus.

We then had a guided tour at the Delphi Archaeological Museum.  It has many statues, architectural elements and other ancient objects.

The ancient Greeks considered Delphi to be the center of the world , marked by the stone monument known as the Omphalos of Delphi.

It is part of UNESCO and is now an archeological site.

We then had lunch and time to explore Delphi (the town).

You can even ski here in the winter. Parnassos Ski Resort is the biggest in Greece.

We got back to Athens with some time to finish exploring the city.

Hellenic Parliament

The Evzones is a special unit of the Hellenic Army also known as Tsoliades.  They guard the Monument of the Unknown Soldier in from of the Hellenic Parliament House.

We explored the Municipal Park

A last sunset in Greece.
