This was a New Years Eve to remember!
Rosi and Helmut rented a separate house for us this week near the holiday home. Unfortunately they had some illness in the family and their friends but we got to see their beautiful place.
This was the place we were staying at. Steps from the sea. It was too cold to enjoy the pool but it was a beautiful property.
Our breakfast spread!
Up on the balcony
Love the Klepsers so much!
We picked up their grand-daughter, Emelie and went to explore a little of. the town of Vinarós.
This is the holiday home. Just lovely!
Port of Vinarós
The girls and Emelie!
Boardwalk to get to the shops
There was a little parade for NYE. The girls did some shopping too.
So so many groves of oranges and mandarins!
Delta de l'Ebre
A beautiful and fascinating area to visit!
This is a spot where the Mediterranean meets the Ebro river, a low land area that is filled with water and they grow and harvest rice.
A bird-watchers paradise, herons, egrets, ibis and flamingos among so many others!
The flamingos were amazing to watch! A group of flamingos is called a flamboyance!
Rosi can throw anything together...including an afternoon snack full of treats!
Volleyball on the beach!
After shopping, we picked up Lilli and her friend Lona (who now lives in Iceland). The girls got along so well!
magical day
Parc Natural del Delta de l'Ebre
La Ràpita
It was truly remarkable we fit all of that in today but we had NYE to celebrate!
Raclette for dinner!
Happy New Year!
Celebrating with Rosi, Helmut, their son and family and the Icelandic family and meeting neighbors along the way with 12 grapes (under the table), champagne and fireworks by a few! So many hugs and "Happy New Year" from strangers on the street. We feel like family.
Take chances, make new friends, see the world...that is what life is about. Make the most of every day and project goodness, kindness and happiness in this world.
Here's to 2024 and the joy, love and adventure that it brings!
