7.3.2022 Talkeetna, Mountain Voyager Tour with Glacier Landing

The next day we had breakfast at our hotel and then drove to Talkeetna which was about 2 hours.

We were able to see Denali in the distance!  It is only visible around 20% of the time.  It is the tallest mountain in North America.

This day took us back into the air to land on a glacier and see Denali and the mountains on a flight seeing tour.

We met at Talkeetna Air Taxi and took the Mountain voyager tour with Glacier landing.

It was an awe inspiring trip which brought us into the Alaskan Range with mountains that felt so close that you could reach out and touch them.  There were many glaciers to see and the east and west face of Denali.  The major glaciers that are on the Southside of the Alaska Range are the Kahiltna, Ruth, Tokositna, Eldridge, Kanikula, Bucksin and Coffee.

The quaint town of Talkeetna. It has a lot of character with small stores and nice people.  It is the jumping off point near the base of Denali.  They have many tours you can take including fishing, float trips, hiking, dog mushing, and flight seeing.

Anxiously awaiting our trip!

This experience was so surreal.  We had headphones that muffled the roar of the plane but could hear the pilot narrating the trip. You feel like you float through the air in slow motion.

It was a 10 person plane.

We landed on a glacier and took in the amazing sight.  It was such an interesting landing on skis!

This adventure truly was a "pinch me"...is this real life?

Jump seat!

Amazing experience and a must do!

We landed and then drove to our next location and place for the next 3 nights, McKinley Creekside Cabins which is outside of Denali National park.  It was about a 2 hour drive.

We ate at the restaurant on site and it was delicious.  The place was so beautiful and had a creek running through it.
