6.7.2018 Yosemite National Park, biking around Yosemite Valley

When you visit the parks...you have to get one with the entrance sign!
With Juliette's foot covered in gauze we made the most of our day deciding to rent bikes in the valley.  It was recommended in our guide books and something I have always wanted to do in other places so we were excited.

First up...some scenic outlooks off the road!

It never fails to impress!
We found that biking was an excellent way to explore the Yosemite Valley.  We rented them at Half Dome and spent the day traveling around the 12 miles of paved and mostly flat roads.  You aren't allowed to ride them on the trails but you can park off the trailhead and walk and hike the rest of the way.  We got a tandem bike for Juliette and Dad which worked out perfectly.

Swinging bridge

The rafting trip down the river was something we thought would be so fun if we had more time.

Breaking for a snack.

Mirror Lake

The meadows were so calm and beautiful.

After returning the bikes after an amazing day we drove to El Capitan to watch some climbers.  They were literally tiny specks to us.  Just the day before, 2 climbers broke the record of climbing it in under 2 hours!  It is a 3000 foot sheer granite cliff and the "nose" route typically takes accomplished climbers 4-5 days to complete!

Having a lot of laughs and fun back at the cabin.
