6.10.2018 Kings Canyon National Park, Zumwalt Meadow Trail

We have really enjoyed our stay at Montecito.  The food was great, the lodging was perfect and there was so much to do.  We met so many nice families from California on this trip too!
We stayed here at this lodge and had a great view of the lake.

This is the lodge where you have meals.  They are also able to make picnic lunches if you aren't able to come back for mealtime during the day.
We didn't have a chance to enjoy the pool and hot tub but it had an amazing view!

Things to do for kids of all ages!
Art Studio
Basketball
and tennis courts
archery too!

There were a lot of choices to experience the lake....canoes, paddle boards, paddle boats and kayaks.  The girls had fun with the fishing nets by the dock catching small fish.

Driving to Kings Canyon National Park.

The Kings Canyon Scenic by-way is just gorgeous!!!!

We stopped and got some counter lunch burgers at the Cedar Grove market and took it to go.

We stopped and had a picnic near the Kings River.
This trail of the Zumwalt Meadow hike is what I imagine heaven to look like.

Stunning

Sometimes you need to breathe in the air and just be still.  This meadow was amazing...the butterflies flitted about and you could hear many songbirds singing.

You would think that this giant pine cone would belong to the tallest tree in the park...but it belongs to a Sugar Pine!  It has the longest cones of any conifer and is the tallest and most massive pine tree!

Views along the Scenic by-way...
