12.19.2020

We honestly wouldn't believe we were going until we landed in Utah, but we did!  We love our time in Deer Valley and although it looked a lot different with the restrictions, the mountains were very much the same. The girls are all quite good skiers for only going once a year out west and picked up where they left off...leaving us very much the ones catching up with them on the slopes!  We are big believers in ski school for them and so they went to a modified lesson in the afternoon twice.  They are all great intermediate skiers!  Allie joined Isabelle in the teen escape and Juliette in the adventure club for her age group.

We enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of skiing and tonight was able to see Jupiter align with Saturn to make a super star!  It quickly rose and disappeared over the mountains so we felt lucky to see it.  It is in the picture between Isabelle and Allie's heads, just over the tree and mountain.  Amazing it can be picked up with an iPhone camera!

A mid afternoon latte and hot chocolate is always a treat!

Park City and Deer Valley were amazing with social distancing and covid measures.  We ate in our condo for meals with the exception of lunch at Deer Valley where the tables were spaced, masks worn in between  eating at all times and being socially distant and mask wearing at lift.  The level of compliance was 100 percent in the streets of Park City too.  We felt safe and happy to be there!

Ski school.

They are always so lucky with the amazing instruction that Deer Valley provides!

On our off day we drove 1 1/2 hours to Antelope Island State Park

This is home to over a hundred bison, antelope, big horned sheep, birds and porcupines

We truly had the place to ourselves.  What a view of the Great Salt Lake!

It was windy and very cold but took a short hike out to the lakeshore.

On our last ski day there we met Josh and John for lunch.  Josh decided to ski with the girls this afternoon and they had a lot of fun!

We were happy to say hello to our friends, the Edwards.  They live in Provo and have a season pass to DV!  Lucky them!

It was great to get away...and we are homeward bound on Christmas Eve.  We were energized by getting to the mountains!  What a beautiful place.
