Indiana
through
Ohio,
Pennsylvania,
and
New York
and we arrived
in Niagara Falls!
We went to the American side to go on the Maid of the Mist boat tour that gets you close (and absolutely soaked despite your rain poncho) to the falls.  We got there late afternoon and it was still incredibly crowded!  It was an insanely popular place.  The area is a state park but there are loads of kitschy shops, tourist areas and restaurants all around.

 Ready to take off!

The falls are so powerful when you get close!

 Allie didn't mind getting wet!

The view on the observation area.  The tall hotels and towers to the right are the Canadian side.  We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe after our boat ride and then crossed the border to Ontario, Canada to spend the night.  The girls thought the waterfall was really neat.  The three waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls are the Horseshoe Falls, the Bridal Veil Falls and the American Falls.  The three falls together total 3,160 tons of water every second which produces over 4 million kilowatts of electricity.   It formed over 10,000 years ago with the glaciers that also formed the great lakes.
