Santa Barbara

While the older girls were off having an adventure in Germany, the 3 of us left state-side went to the west coast to the endless sunshine of California. We stayed in Santa Barbara for 5 days and enjoyed every minute.  The vibe, city, people, landscape and food (and wine) made this a favorite place along the coast of Cali.

A great meal at Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach

There were so many dogs enjoying the water.

Pacific Ocean

Our resort hotel was right across the street and the beach was so close for us to enjoy.

We had complimentary bike rentals and took advantage a couple of days. We took the Coastal trail as far as we could.  It was just gorgeous!

Exploring the Mission

The Toma restaurant was a favorite!

I loved the East Beach Tacos. We even did some batting at the nearby batting cages.

This morning we took the bikes from the resort to the pier.

We couldn’t keep Juliette out of the ocean!  It was pretty chilly too.

The Botanical garden was stunning.

Fishouse restaurant

We also had great pizza at Lucky Penny and finished with Pop McConnell ice cream.  We really liked the Scarlet Begonia and the Daisy for lunch.  We had the included breakfast at the resort but enjoyed walking almost everywhere to eat and explore.

The flowers and architecture were so pretty
