These pictures of the last 2-3 weeks are completely out of order, but we feel the same! To have all of our activities, sports, and school cancelled and reformatted to something completely remote and socially distanced feels unsettling and emotional. These are a glimpse into our new "school", "dance" and reconnecting when our evenings and weekends have suddenly become very free.
The girls are up by 9, expected to be dressed and have opened Canvas for the day. Breakfast can be gradual and they often eat while doing their lessons for the day.
Eve is certainly happy to have her humans home all day!
Some free time activities when the weather is less than ideal!
We have also certainly been eating a lot too! Allie makes some of the best chocolate chip cookies!
We opened the pool at the beginning of April and we have actually had a few days of sunshine and warmth to enjoy! Yea!
Sun equals freckles galore for Juliette!
Our super empty calendar!
Reminders to social distance at the grocery store. I have needed to get groceries every 10-14 days. I didn't realize how often I would go before just to get a few things for dinner every week. We have actually gotten to sit down as a family of 5 often. What a change!
The biggest smile getting to see her classmates at a Zoom meeting every morning!
So many games and cards...especially UNO!
We have so much time to reconnect in our sisterly friendships too!
I try and capture a bit of their electronic learning days. Juliette has needed to move to the kitchen many days. I am not sure it helps with the overall focus, but anything goes anymore!
Juliette loves Youtube and to connect by FaceTime and texting her friends after her e-day is complete!
The barre that Allie received for Christmas has come in so handy as the girls now complete their dance classes via Zoom.
We are so happy to see the sun and play in the warm weather. It has been a relatively cool and gray spring so far and we can't wait until it is nice the majority of the time.
Eve just has to be in the middle of the action!
Juliette found an old pogo stick and has really gotten the hang of it. I tried and I couldn't even make one bounce!
Eve has really enjoyed walking her humans too!
Indiana spring = mud. The girls love to play in the creek and on the property surrounding our house.
Allie taking the lunch order today for her restaurant.
The girls also have been re-watching series of movies. I bet you can guess which movies they have been watching recently.
After morning at the grocery store, I enlist my helpers to give me a hand unloading and wiping down the groceries we buy at the store.
Our sunroom becomes the new Zoom meeting room.
School cancelled until the end of the year. The girls are doing e-learning. It is Monday-Thursday after spring break. School now ends on the 21st. This presents challenges not only for the teachers but for the girls too. They miss their friends and routine. We are thankful for the ability to learn on-line.
Gas $1.59 per gallon
Self-distancing, stand at least 6 feet from one another.
Tape on the floors at grocery stores and others to help distance shoppers (6ft) from each other.
Limited number of people inside certain stores, (Costco) lineups outside the store doors to get in.
Non-essential stores and businesses mandated closed.
Playgrounds locked or with caution tape to close. We can walk on trails, sidewalks.
Entire sports seasons cancelled. No high school sports this spring.
Concerts, tours, festivals, entertainment events - cancelled and rescheduled
Weddings, family celebrations, holiday gatherings - cancelled and rescheduled.
No masses, churches are closed. We watch church services virtually and the girls are able to Zoom their small groups in church.
No gatherings of 50 or more, then 20 or more, now 5 or more. We personally have not done any gathering at all.
It is nice to say hi from a distance to neighbors and friends while out walking.
Children's outdoor play parks, school playgrounds are taped off and gyms are closed.
We are to distance from each other.
Shortage of masks, gowns, gloves for our front-line workers. Our healthcare worker gets daily updates on how much PPE is available daily.
Shortage of ventilators for the critically ill. We are projected to hit our "peak" this Easter weekend.
Panic buying set in especially at the beginning. No toilet paper, no disinfecting supplies, no paper towels and no hand sanitizer. These are slowly coming in stock, but sometimes difficult to find. Often toilet paper is completely empty. At first it was hard to find the staples like, bread, flour and sugar and even bottled water.
Shelves are bare.
Manufacturers, distilleries and other businesses switch their lines to help make visors, masks, hand sanitizer and PPE.
Government closes the border to all non-essential travel.
Fines are established for breaking the rules.
Stadiums and recreation facilities open up for the overflow of Covid-19 patients.
Press conferences daily from the President. Daily updates on new cases, recoveries, and deaths.
Government incentives to stay home.
People are still out driving but many families are all home together.
People wearing masks and gloves outside.
Essential service workers are terrified to go to work from reports in the news.
Medical field workers are afraid to go home to their families according to news articles. After patient contact, Jamie leaves his shoes in car, changes clothes before coming home. He then takes scrubs off in washing machine and then immediately showers before family contact.

This is the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic, declared March 11th, 2020.
I saw this circulating around Facebook and thought it was important to share in this adventure of our life. We are thankful for our health and pray for our family and friends daily.
