Chicago, The Museum of Science & Industry

The girls having a great time at the "Idea Factory".

You can see the giraffe's head poking out of the exhibit.
 The U-505
The Museum of Science and Industry is 14 acres of exciting interactive exhibits.  It is also the largest science museum in the Western Hemisphere.  There was no way we could see it all but we had so much fun in the time we had.  Our favorite was the "Animals Inside Out" exhibit (no photography was allowed).  They have preserved many animals including giraffes, bulls, cats, goats, dogs (just to name a few) but a process of plastination.  Absolutely fascinating.  They had varying levels of dissection, organs on display, animals showing the intricate blood vessel patterns and also humans and fetuses.  We also liked listening to details of the Colleen Moore's Fairy Castle, seeing the U-505 submarine, playing at the "You" exhibit and Idea factory, and seeing the Science Storms among other things.
After the museum we went to enjoy some Chicago style deep dish pizza at Lou Malnati's.  It was sooo delicious and Isabelle mentioned it was worth the wait!  We took it "to go" and enjoyed it as a picnic in Grant's park.
