Monkey joe's birthday party

 Juliette has been begging for a Monkey joe's birthday for a very very long time and she was thrilled on Saturday to spend it with some of her little friends and their siblings to run, jump and bounce on their giant inflatables...

 and also to enjoy cake and ice cream...

 until Monkey joe himself showed up and scared the $*%^ out of her.  I wish I had it on video...hilarious.  You can barely see her on the left hand side of this picture, since she about jumped out of the chair.  Way to ruin a 3 year old's birthday, Mj.  

 All good though since she has a birthday song, cupcake and ice cream...

and she hasn't forgotten that purple monkey...

This past weekend we took a short trip to see our friends, the Ciorbas and take in a few St. Louis sights along the way.  On Saturday we had a delicious BBQ and then went to an evening game with Isabelle, Allie, Matt and David while Katie, Juliette and Luther stayed back at the house.  Their other son, Calvin was at camp that weekend. The Cardinals lost against the Rangers but we had fun regardless!  On Sunday we had plans to go to the City Museum and changed our mind there intimidated by the long line and not much time and opted for the amazingly beautiful Botanical gardens where the kids enjoyed the splash pad, a kid zone and feeding the massive koi at the Japanese garden.

 Today we celebrated beautiful Juliette's birthday with a trip to the Monon Center to swim, pizza for dinner and cake that she has been begging for all day.  I asked her tonight after a shower if she had fun during her first day of being three and she said that she wants more birthdays!

She got so many fun things for her birthday including Minnie Mouse items, block and shape puzzles, and bubbles.

 Warm, humid sunny days, 2 popsicles a piece after swimming, tank tops and flip flops, bug bites, giggles, sister fun and hand clapping chants learned in school.  My house is a mess and laundry is piled high, my breakfast dishes are still on the table and it is 5:00 pm, toys sit abandoned in the playroom and workbooks are gathering some dust but summertime will come and be gone before we know it.
