I was alerted that our outgoing flight from Indy was already delayed right after getting the kids home from school for our ski weekend. We knew we would most likely miss our connection to Salt Lake City and delay our trip by a day. I already had everything booked and was so anxious we would miss out on our first day on already a short vacation! We decided to try it anyway and after an early dinner at the airport we boarded our plane to Phoenix. We arrived and literally had minutes to spare. Our gate didn't look that far from the one we were at, but we were mistaken! We all sprinted the best we could to our next gate. Running down moving walkways, huffing and puffing with our carryon bags...but we got to the gate just in the knick of time! So lucky! We arrived very late to Salt Lake City and had a painful wait to get our rental car from the airport. I should have learned my lesson with Budget from last year! Never again!
We arrived to Park City exhausted and relieved that our luggage made it too.
We had ski school booked for the girls and they know the drill from being a seasoned skier at Deer Valley. We got the rental skis and waited in line for the Burns lift to take them to the top. Isabelle joined the Teen Escape group for her lesson. Juliette skied with the advanced beginners and Allie with Intermediate skiers.
That meant that Jamie and I had the day to ski together!
We had to have all the desserts (carrot cake in this picture) and of course southwestern turkey chili!
Bear house
Isabelle had a great day of lessons!
Our sweet friends from home happened to be skiing at Deer Valley today too! :)
Our second day with lots of snow!
Juliette was all excited after finding out she was recommended to ski with poles tomorrow! Her ski dream!
Enjoying the beautiful views!
We stayed in and had dinner in the condo. We all needed a bit of relaxation after a fun day!
Its our 3rd day already and a family ski day! Juliette needs to check out the map to find out which runs to do!
In the never ending line for the lift!
A busy weekend = sold out lift tickets and long lines at the lift.
Even with just a few days in ski school the girls are skiing so well!
Lunch time and sunshine!
On the lift
Best view on the mountain
Juliette resting in this position. Somehow she literally pops right up from here on her skis. I don't even know how.
Allie also resting during a bathroom break! They love the piles of snow!
Just beautiful!
Hot chocolate break for the girls...latte and cappuccino for the adults...and a cookie too for good measure.
We had a great day of skiing together with a few little squabbles between the sisters. We had an amazing time and wish we could be here for longer! Until next year, Deer Valley!
We stayed the night in Salt Lake City and were able to see some friends that have moved to Provo. We got to meet their newest little one and although we missed seeing John, we hope to catch up soon.
Our early morning flight back to the mid-west. So long, Utah!
