We had the tree up before Thanksgiving knowing we would want to do some decorating after our time in Iowa.  The girls were SO excited to get the ornaments out and start getting ready for Christmas.  I love their comments of remembering certain ornaments or their hurried placement so they can unwrap the next one.  It is a joy to see Christmas and the holiday season through the eyes of children.

Everyone had a great Friday!  The weather was so warm!  Some of the family did some black Friday shopping.  Some of us met at the Hawkeye complex to play some tennis and others went out to watch  the Iowa Hawkeyes kick some Cornhusker behind on TV.  We enjoyed our visit so much!

 My dad loves getting his picture taken and is so supportive of my photography hobby.  Not!  

 We are missing a few grandkids...but here is the crew that was here.

I think a lot of the cousins walked many miles over the last 2 days!  They had a lot of sweet togetherness going through the cornfields and walking the land.

Thanksgiving!!!!

We are so thankful for all of our blessings including being able to spend time in Iowa with our loved ones!  It is so great to reconnect sometimes after going a couple of years without seeing each other!

 Our only turkey this Thanksgiving.

 The weather was amazing and warm for late November in Iowa.  Everyone had so much fun playing football...and Grandma was pretty liberal with the Ibuprofen during the evening.

For 2nd grade book character day Juliette went as the modern chapter book "Amelia Bedelia".  She is as funny and silly as ever taking things quite literally as a young girl!  Juliette did such a great job with her presentation and cute diorama that she created at school too!  It was fun listening to all her classmates too!

 Jamie had a long day at work but we welcomed him home to his favorite meal of Spaetzle and chocolate cake for his birthday!  Happy 45th birthday Dad!  We love you and wish you one of the best years yet!
