"There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give to our children, one of these is roots, the other, wings." ~Johan Wolfgang von Goethe
The girls look forward to their time in Iowa. It's a unique treasure to experience the simplicity when we compare it to the race of everything in life in the city where we live.
Buddy
Allie and Isabelle did chores every day with Grandpa, feeding the ewes, lambs and watering them as needed. They loved every minute. Juliette also got out on the last day to help too.
Allie's nail salon traveled to Iowa and she gave Grandma the baaaaaa-est manicure of her life I think. What other then hay and sheep on green nails could she possibly want?

Juliette and Grandpa love to tease each other and make each other laugh!
It was so windy in Iowa! It was a nearly 60 degree day but felt so chilly because of the incessant wind. We went to Lake Rathbun out by Honey Creek to the beach. The girls love to play here.
They create homes out of the bluffs with tree root curtains.
She claims she found some quicksand when we first got here.
They found some rocks with high iron content and then made "war paint" for their faces.
It was a nice and relaxing day spent with Grandpa Miller!

On Monday we drove to Newton to spend the day with Grandma. Of course when we arrived we had to play her in a game of aggravation.
Grandma of course won.
We brought her a chocolate bunny and have she said her good-byes we all had a nibble.
It is always so fun to spend time with Great Grandma!
We arrived in the afternoon and since the girls have been so into Star Wars, Daddy went to the basement to find the mother-load of his "vintage collection". The girls were ecstatic!

The Easter bunny arrived with a pooping jelly bean bunny...
and light sabers!
We were up early and attended our church's 8:00 am service. It was wonderful with the orchestra and message. We then got our things together to make our annual spring break trek to Iowa that morning.
We stayed in Des Moines with family and had a nice visit with them.
Happy Easter!
