The day where the cold wind blew with intermittent showers. The day that the girls got to see and hold piglets and lambs and run around the farm. They get so much joy from these visits and time with grandparents that they see so infrequently is priceless.

The day we flew kites in cornfields. Growing up I never thought such expanse of blue skies and the fields that change with seasons were beautiful. I never noticed the goldenrod in the summers along the fence posts along the rows of corn and how they blew in the breeze. The older I get I love the simplicity of Iowa.

The day that you got your first "shiner" at school. At recess you collided with another little girl and while she was okay, you got a very purple and swollen eye!

Climbers and jumpers...
The day that maybe only you welcomed the rain! Such smiles all afternoon while you frolicked out side in your new raincoat and matching boots and the excitement when you were able to use the umbrella in the steady rain. You sang songs while you stomped through the yard and exclaimed you were going up and down the mountains. You said, "Can you smell the wain? Is it spwing?"

The days that puzzles are among your favorite activity to do. You're my little engineer, putting together Legos, building towers and bridges with wooden blocks and piecing together endless puzzles. Dolls are just not your thing lately.

The first Cadbury egg of the season is just so so good.
A glimpse of my imperfectly perfect life. The two older girls are jumping off the furniture in a ridiculously messy living room after eating dinner ...and the little sister just watching and taking notes. Just another day that I know how blessed I am!

The day that you and your sisters dressed up as characters from "Alice and Wonderland" and put on a play. They were inspired by their elementary school's recent show and I got to enjoy your rendition from our living room.
Here's Alice and White Rabbit!

The day that your play set found a new home. For some reason I became quite emotional this day over a toy that has been in our house since you received it on your 2nd birthday. I honestly remember where it sat in the lawn at our first home together in Indy, how excited we were for you to get this and how we quickly had to put it in storage while we relocated to Germany that summer. I remember how small you looked as I strapped you in that swing and now look at you who is twice as tall nearly 7 years later. Sometimes it is not about the items themselves as it is almost always that sweet place in our me more that it brings us.

The day you turned your face to the sky and smiled, "I love when the sun warms my face and the wind tickles my chin".

The day that you, "Miss Miller" taught the class about "relistic fiction". You love when we all participate in your thought out lessons plans...even when you have to refer to Juliette as "Froggy" just to get her to play along.

The day that you have been anticipating! You finally get to see Frozen again after the DVD release. I have never seen from any of you such a level of obsession with a movie. The three of you sat enthralled watching the movie in the basement and only stopped looking so you could yell at me to stop singing along.

The day you practically inhaled a chocolate cupcake and crumbs were everywhere! I watched you vigorously wiping your hands with a napkin....but you might have missed a spot! :)

The day you woke up blissfully happy from an afternoon nap. You clamored to be on my lap and asked to "hold you". You cuddled so close and kept hugging me. The older you get the more I realize that the things that I "think" need to be done (i.e. laundry and a clean house) really aren't important at all. The things I need to do are to hold all of you close as often as possible. Laundry will never go away, but some day you will.
After dinner books and loves from Daddy.
