The unconditional love of a pet is so special.  I witness you and your sisters bestowing so much love on the furry family.  I just love this peaceful look on your face as you gaze at Maisy.

 The day you came home and declared you were going to save me.

We will always do everything and anything in our power to protect you girls.  I pray every night to keep you safe and healthy.  

28.365 Love is kind

The day we had yet another school cancellation due to the severe cold.  We found a lot to keep us busy and happy and a lot to squabble about as well.  Playing a game of operation rattles my nerves anticipating the buzz, but here you are Isabelle, helping your little sister with the game.  I really try hard to have you show kindness to each other and often it flows naturally.  Sometimes I realize that I myself need to show more kindness as well.  Remind me as I remind you.

27.365 Love is patient

A bathtub with my growing girls crowding each other and jockeying for the place with the most bubbles proves to need patience and to be fun for any night...even with your sister's feet right in your corner.

The day you laid on the bed doing homework and I watched the filtered sun fall on your beautiful face in your very pink room.  Someone said to me that I capture you in a photograph as an "old soul".  Your unfailing kindness and sweet personality just adds to your amazing beauty.  You are only 8 in this photograph but look so much more mature.

Ever so connected you three as sisters.  Best friends.  I can't wait to share your amazing story of your beginning as why it doesn't surprise me one bit of your closeness and why I should never take for granted God's gift to me.  Your story has an amazing first chapter.

24.365 Reflection

The day you caught your reflection in the camera lens and were excited to see a "tunella mustache".  You couldn't get over how silly and messy you looked...with that smile and cuteness I might market a one way mirror for the lens.  :)  Every day you make me laugh.  I am so grateful.

You won't remember with clarity during the summer with how the cold air takes your breath away, how the snow is so deep and crunches under your boots, or how you remark on how "glittery" the snow looks under the bright bright sun.  In the blistering hot days of summer...will you think about and want to return to this frozen time?

Watching the deer roam our front yard...enjoying a 2 hour delay...looking out into the sunshine and glittery snow...and looking through glass that quickly fogged from their hot breath...an image of my biggest and littlest.

Goodness...they grow so fast.

20.365 Looking in/ Looking out

 No school today and you and your sisters took advantage of a warmish afternoon in the snow.  You were throwing snowballs at the windows and waiting for your sisters to join you.  The cold and snow have not become tiresome yet for you three.  You pretended to be "Elsa", Allie was "Anna" and Juliette was "Olaf" in the backyard.  Tonight you said that you were so glad to be a kid and you were happy that time was going so slow for you.  You will find out that time not only speeds up but goes blazingly fast...especially when you are a mom.

 We got home from church and brunch and ran downstairs to watch the game.  during the first half you and Juliette decided to dress up in your cheerleading outfits complete with pom pons to help cheer on the Hawkeyes!  You were the only two in black and gold and I know it made your Dad smile to see you in Iowa attire.  We think you make a perfect cheerleader and won't be surprised to see you as one some day!

 Dressed up and waiting for the little sister so you can continue to dance...the soundtrack to Frozen is blaring...how you girls love the music of that movie.

16.365 Filling the frame

The day you woke up from  the morning deep slumber, grumpy and you came home from school in a mood too.  You made good use of the time out corner today, made your sisters cry a few times but had some cuddle mom time too.  You insisted that my cup was filled with "beer" during a pretend "tea party" as you munched on plastic pizza and you animately talked with your hands.  You insisted I call you "Winky" all afternoon.  You ran laps around the house tonight and said I was "crazy mommy" when I looked at you.  Your mind was on fast forward today and you went to bed as ornery as you woke up.

15.365 Looking Up

 A full moon and a full sized bed with 3 sisters.  Looking up at your amazing faces makes me realize how lucky and loved I am.  Every. Single. Day.

At first glance you would assume that they are brown but in their depths have yellow flecks, rich hazel and olive green.  They are full of love and adoration, mischief and fun, so expressive and beautiful.  Just like you.
