Random

Isabelle pretending to sleep.

Allie loves pudding and anything chocolate.

Christmas cookies

The girls love to help me cook and they had a great time decorating sugar cookies. Although not suitable to share (lots of licked spoons and excessive sprinkles), the end result to them was very yummy. We are getting excited for our trip back to Iowa for the holidays (not the driving part however), and have been anxiously watching the weather channel. It looks like in typical mid-west fashion that we will be getting some type of "wintry mix" on Tuesday and then rain on Wednesday in Indy...which probably translates to below zero blizzard conditions in Iowa. I guess we will wait and see for now as we all know that meterologists are the only occupation that can be right 30% of the time. Fingers crossed we will make it there on Christmas Eve!

Big Al

Allie has been acquiring quite the personality, she is talking alot now and will do anything for a laugh. She is a cheese-ball and will scrunch up her nose and make faces so someone will notice her. She loves to play with her doll babies and loves to touch and admire real "life" babies too. She recently had a growth check-up to follow up on her "petite-ness" and although her cheeks and jowls point otherwise, she is still pretty little at 22 pounds 1 1/2 oz with clothes and shoes on. She has jumped up to the 10th % on weight and measured 32 inches which puts her at 25th % for height.

Neurosurgery holiday party

Mrs. Claus was even there to do face painting for the children.

Isabelle was most estatic to be painted like a cat!

A view of the Indianapolis downtown from the Central Library's stairs.

The family had a nice time at the annual holiday party held at the Central Library downtown on Sunday evening.

IUPUI night at the Children's Museum

After a few years of screaming while in Santa's presence, Isabelle's desire for a "play kitchen" made her brave enough to sit on his lap...and even...give him a hug!

Santa totally wanted me to sit on his lap in this photo!

Our good friends, Katrina and Lloyd invited us on Wednesday night to the Children's Museum for a catered event. Isabelle and Allie had SOOOO much fun with their buddies, Caleb and Alissa. I was a nurse with Katrina at Riley and she watched Isabelle when she was about 3 months old to the day that Allie was born.

Christmas at the zoo

We bundled up last Sunday for an afternoon at the Indianapolis zoo. Some animals were out to brave the 20 degree weather, but some we will have to wait for next spring to see (elephants, zebras and giraffes). There is still plenty to do as the zoo was full of holiday cheer and decorated in different colored Christmas lights...it would certainly give Clark Griswold's house a run for the money.

Ho ho ho...Merry Christmas!

The girls are excited for Santa's arrival! I have been hearing "Jingle Bells" and "Frosty the Snowman" among some other tunes sung by Isabelle and Allie. If you have never heard Christmas carols with a 20 month old singing...it is pretty hilarious.

Bathtime and tantrums...

Squeaky clean.

No day goes by without Allie "voicing" her opinion about something. This tantrum even involved a mouthful of chocolate slobber. I thought chocolate made people forget their worries. Allie doesn't just fall down in a fit of fury anywhere. She seeks the perfect spot out to throw herself down to sob and flail around.

Oh, to be a child around Christmas time again. It is truly magical!
