Copenhagen

We have arrived in Copenhagen, found our hotel, took a quick rest and got a bite to eat.

We then walked to the Rosenborg Castle.  It is renaissance style and dates back to 1624 in its current form.

The Rosenborg Castle Garden is the country's oldest royal garden and was embellished in the Renaissance style by Christian IV shortly before the construction of the main castle.

It contains many Danish royalty artifacts.

It was a full day.  After dinner we walked to Nyhavn and had ice cream. Nyhavn is a historic area and canal with colorful townhomes and businesses from the 17th and 18th century.  The former home of Hans Christian Anderson is also here.

The next day, the girls and I set off to do some shopping while Dad went to the museum.

Strøget is the famous shopping street in Copenhagen.

We then decided to have some fun in Tivoli in the afternoon! Tivoli opened in 1843 and is one of the world's oldest operating amusement parks. It was inspiration for Walt Disney to create Disneyland.  The gardens are beautiful.

It was certainly a fun day.

We had some rooftop drinks to cap off a great couple days in Copenhagen.
